We've made it to New Orleans (aka our new home)! The road trip here was unbelievably smooth. Here are a few of the blessings we had along the way...
1. Our stuff actually fit in the moving truck. It's the biggest truck one can rent from Penske, and if we had had one extra piece of furniture or five more boxes, they wouldn't have fit. Put simply, everything fit perfectly. Whew! (I must say, that at 3:00pm on Friday as we were still loading up, I was starting to stress. It was close!)
2. Isabella and Olivia didn't even fuss or throw a tantrum about being in the car for 8 or 9 hours each day. Wow! We have been blessed with such wonderful children!
3. We didn't even have to fight rain or much traffic on the entire 900 mile journey. Nice!
4. We stayed in the small town of Madison, FL on Saturday night and had surprisingly good Mexican food. Let's face it, I'm a food snob, and a decent restaurant in a small town is always such a pleasant surprise.
5. We had very good helpers in Nick's brother Andrew and his lovely girlfriend, Tara. It was immensely helpful to have extra hands with the driving, the loading/unloading, and the girls. AND, we had the bonus of being able to get to know Tara, and to get to see Andrew after quite a long time apart.
Here are some shots of our little stop in Madison, FL. I love cute small towns!
